The bass woofer box is really not a sub, rather than the speaker that adds the bass to the system. Although Bose is expensive i am very satisfied with the sound. If you have an existing receiver and want to upgrade the system with the best speakers, the acoustimass is your answer.
Knowing which model headphones you’re using lets us remove any sonic coloring from your experience. These speakers seems to require lots of power. I ended up buying a much more powerful receiver to get these speakers to sound good .
Shipping and handling
One caution for those savvy with speaker wire and home theater set is that Bose has all of their own wires and the speakers have special connectors. I wasn’t aware of this, it basically meant I had to work a little harder to hide the wires but not a real issue. This is our first surround sound experience and the sound is awesome. Crisp clear sound, action effects around the room. I like that you don't have to buy any other cords or speaker wire, everything comes with it.
I went with this rig because of the size...if I could do it over again I would go with something different. I hate the proprietary plugs and subwoofer system...it is quite limiting. Then, the subwoofer output connects to the receiver with a special speaker bundle of speaker wire. You can't use regular speaker wire to connect any of the satellite speakers to the receiver, nor can you use any of the satellite speakers without the subwoofer. The entire process to connect this system to our receiver was a bit of a hassle.
The the surround speakers connect to the base module with more proprietary wires. If you get this system, be careful about the connections. After connection, I did a sound analysis and some of the speakers were out of phase even though all the wires were connected correctly. I needed to switch the positive and negative terminals at the receiver to get the speakers properly in phase. There is a big ribbon cable that goes from the sub-woofer to the source . That end has bare wires so depending on your connections on the smart-tv you may have a hard time. I installed quick connectors to go into my stereo spring clips.

There is a part in the movie where the main character is surrounded by motorcycles. To our panel's surprise, the small cubed speakers produced the full and dynamic surround sound to make them feel as if they were surrounded as well.
